This Policy on Cookies and Similar Technologies (the “Policy”) explains how M&R Freight Market SRL (“M&R Freight Market”, “we” or the “Operator”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the website and within the M&R Freight Market digital platform (the “Platform”).

The M&R Freight Market Platform is a B2B digital service intended to facilitate direct contact and collaboration between carriers, producers, and warehousing or logistics operators.

We use cookies and similar technologies for the operation of the Platform, to remember certain preferences, to protect accounts and forms against misuse and, only with the user’s consent, to analyse how the Platform is used.

This Policy must be read together with the Privacy Policy, which contains additional information on the processing of personal data.

Cookies are small files stored on the user’s device through the browser when the user accesses a website or an online platform.

3.1 Remembering the Selected Language

The Platform uses the NEXT_LOCALE cookie to remember the language in which the user wishes to view the interface.

This is a functional, session cookie, which is deleted when the browser is closed.

The cookie enables the Platform to be displayed in the selected language and is used to provide this functionality as requested by the user.

3.2 Account Authentication and Security

Authentication on the Platform is carried out through a system based on authentication tokens, not through classic session cookies.

The tokens are managed through local browser storage mechanisms, including localStorage.

The validity of the authentication token is a maximum of 7 days on the server.

Where the “Remember me” option is used, authentication may be maintained until the user logs out or until the token expires, without exceeding the maximum validity period.

If this option is not selected, the Platform is configured to limit the persistence of authentication to the session of use.

Upon logout, the Platform deletes the authentication token and the profile data stored locally within the authentication mechanism.

These mechanisms are used to ensure access to the account and for the operation of the services requested by the user.

3.3 Form Protection through Google reCAPTCHA v3

The Platform uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to protect certain forms and functionalities against automated access, abusive attempts, and spam-type activities.

The service is used, among other things, to protect the authentication, registration, and password recovery processes.

The Google reCAPTCHA v3 script is loaded upon the first protected action, and not necessarily upon mere access to the Platform’s home page.

reCAPTCHA v3 analyses certain technical information and interactions and generates a score that is used by the Platform’s system to assess the risk associated with the respective action.

According to the technical configuration communicated, the Platform uses a score acceptance threshold of 0.5.

The use of this service may involve the transmission to Google of certain technical information, including data regarding the device, the browser, the IP address, and the interaction with the protected form.

The service is integrated for the purpose of the security of the Platform. Any cookies and similar technologies associated with it are used in accordance with the applicable legal requirements, including the rules on consent and the exceptions provided by law.

M&R Freight Market uses Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the Platform and to improve functionalities and the user experience.

Through Google Analytics, information may be collected regarding the pages accessed, interactions with the Platform, browser and device characteristics, as well as online identifiers used for statistical purposes.

Google Analytics is loaded only after the user has given consent through the cookie banner.

Before analytics cookies are accepted, Google Analytics is not activated.

If the user refuses optional cookies, the Platform does not activate Google Analytics on the basis of the consent mechanism.

The Google Analytics cookies used or provided for in the Platform’s configuration include identifiers from the _ga family.

The storage period communicated for the Google Analytics configuration is approximately 2 years, with the possibility of differences depending on the cookie and on the actual configuration of the service.

The names and durations of third-party cookies may vary depending on the technical configuration and on updates to the respective services.

Upon accessing the Platform, the user is presented with a banner through which they may accept or refuse optional cookies.

Analytics cookies used through Google Analytics are activated only after consent has been given.

The user may subsequently change or withdraw their consent by accessing the “Cookie settings” link, available in the footer of the Platform’s pages.

In the event of refusal or withdrawal of consent for analytics, the Platform stops Google Analytics and deletes the cookies from the _ga* family that it is able to manage.

The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out prior to its withdrawal.

Refusing optional cookies does not prevent the use of the basic functionalities of the Platform.

The technologies necessary for the operation and security of the Platform are managed separately, under the conditions permitted by the applicable legislation.

As of the date of this Policy, according to the technical information communicated, M&R Freight Market does not use tracking technologies for behavioural advertising, such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads Conversion Tracking.

If the Platform subsequently introduces such technologies, this Policy will be updated and the user’s consent will be requested before they are activated, in the cases provided by law.

Operational or commercial communications sent by e-mail are treated separately from the use of cookies, in accordance with the Privacy Policy and the applicable legislation.

The following relevant external services are used or provided for in the operation of the Platform:

• Google Analytics: a service for analysing the use of the Platform, activated only after consent to analytics cookies has been given.
• Google reCAPTCHA v3: a security service for protecting forms and sensitive actions against automated or abusive use.
• Resend: a service used for sending transactional e-mails, such as messages regarding the account, authentication, registration, or other operational communications. The use of this service for sending e-mails does not, in itself, involve the installation of cookies in the user’s browser.

The available options differ depending on the browser and the device.
